Mission Statement:
Our purpose as the Women in Business Committee
is to support the role of women in the workforce and
foster their business growth through networking opportunities
and seminars designed specifically for women. The
committee awards an annual scholarship to a woman
needing further education to re-enter the job market
or shift career direction and honors an outstanding
woman for her business and community leadership with
the Patricia Clatch Award.
The Women in Business Committee is the Chamber’s
largest committee. The goal of the committee is to
bring professional women together in a monthly meeting
for networking and business education. The committee
hosts an annual evening of networking a June dinner
and scholarships for mature women continuing their
education to further their career goals.
The Women in Business Annual Awards Dinner features
an Outstanding Woman of the Year Award, named to honor
the late Patricia Clatch, a successful business women
and community oriented individual. Also, at the dinner,
scholarships are awarded to women over the age of
25 who are continuing their education to further their
career goals or reenter the workforce. Committee members
are responsible for procuring a noted speaker, promotional
material and other aspects of the evening. |
